Student Debt Crisis Listening Session with Wisconsin State Treasurer Sarah Godlewski

“Wisconsin State Treasurer Sarah Godlewski will hold a listening session on addressing the student debt crisis at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. This listening session focus on exploring the impacts of and solutions to the student debt crisis in Wisconsin. During the moderated discussion, UW-Stout college students will have an opportunity to have a conversation with the Wisconsin State Treasurer Sarah Godlewski. Students are encouraged to share their stories, concerns, and questions with Godlewski. This event is open to the public. Student loan debt is a $24 billion problem in Wisconsin. It affects over one million across our state and impacts the household budgets of working families with ripple effects on the overall economic health of Wisconsin. The Office of the State Treasurer is Wisconsin’s chief financial officer. As a constitutional office, the State Treasurer serves as the state’s fiscal watchdog, oversees investments, and fosters economic security in a financially sustainable manner.
